Groundbreaking new theatre company Pointless Productions (an affiliation of Zero Expectation Enterprises) are proud to bring ‘The Comedy Nobody’ to The Town Hall Studio, Galway.

‘The Comedy Nobody’, a new one-man play where humour and anonymity collide, is written and performed by Galway-born Karl MacDermott. MacDermott, a stalwart of the nascent Irish comedy scene from 1989 to 1999, disappeared from view amidst much public indifference around the turn-of-the-century. But now he’s back! And indifference has been forever banished. Only to be replaced by yawning apathy.

But this does not concern him. His motto has always been similar to that Beckett quote. Slightly re-worked. ‘Fail again. Fail even better.’ ‘The Comedy Nobody’ is about a former comedian who contemplates a comeback while caring for his ailing mother. He also regularly attends a self-help group for unsuccessful comedians called The Comedy Casualty Club and tries to interest his former agent Sisyphus O’Shea of SOS Management in handling his career once more, as he desperately tries to update his act to get work in the present-day burgeoning Irish comedy scene.

Don’t miss an opportunity to catch ‘The Comedy Nobody’ for this one-night-only!
