Whelan’s weekly singer songwriter night
Whelan’s singer songwriter night ‘Song Cycle’ offers a platform for acts to experiment, sing and share in the friendly informal setting of Whelan’s front window. Taking our cues from our favourite artists musings on the creative process (Van Dyke Parks lends us the title from his seminal 1967 opus) this night offers artists a fresh new stage to breath life into songs, experiment with ideas or simply just play for the sheer enjoyment of it.
Our host Tony McLoughlin helps to curate the evening. Needless to say an impromptu session is never too far away. Some have likened it to a lock-in during opening hours.
Song Cycle takes place in Whelan’s bar, Mondays from 9pm, admission is free and all are welcome to play.
