Presented by Southill Community Group
Directed by Karen Fitzgibbon
Following on from the huge success of their self-penned sell-out shows Southside Story, Is She Dead Yet, For The Love and Honour, Rocky Hill (adapted for short film) and short film, Web Of Deceit, the Southill Community Drama Group are back yet again with a brand new original play, A Little Bit of Magic!
This year the group are in the unique position to have a play written for them! Cast member, Mona Gardiner’s granddaughter attended their production of Rocky Hill in the Life Centre last year and was so inspired by the production that she penned her own play with the cast in mind.
A Little Bit of Magic tells the story of a group of care home residents who take a day trip to the Burren with their driver, carer and event organiser. When they arrive, they are left alone with the tour guide who then decides to take an urgent call. Feeling disgruntled and abandoned they decide to explore the Burren alone, only to get lost in the wild. Tension builds as relationship secrets between the residents unfold and a visit from the cutest faery who wants her historic fantasy to be taken seriously. Will they make it back to the centre in one piece? Find out in this hilarious, fast-paced comedy as the chase begins!
There is huge excitement building during rehearsals for this much anticipated community production. The Southill Mens Sheds have been working on our set pieces and the cast and crew are gathering costumes and props to bring this show to life.
Supported by the Southill Family Resource Centre and the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.
